Continental unveils new sport touring tire as the successor to the ContiMotion
Hannover, Germany – Continental has introduced the ContiMotion EVO, a new sport touring motorcycle tire and successor to the ContiMotion. The tire combines updated construction and compounds with Continental’s EasyHandling technology, targeting riders seeking a balance of riding enjoyment, safety and mileage.
The ContiMotion EVO features new carcass materials designed to provide greater stability and consistency, resulting in more agile handling. Updated compounds are designed to improve performance in both wet and dry conditions.
“With the ContiMotion EVO, we’re offering a versatile sport touring tire,” said Christoph Ettenhuber, head of the Business Field Motorcycle Tires at Continental. “It combines intuitive handling with reliable grip in both wet and dry conditions – all while delivering impressive mileage for everyday use.”
The tire uses Continental’s EasyHandling technology and an optimized construction to provide predictable steering response and agile handling, including in tight corners and at low speeds. An optimized hybrid silica tread compound is designed to improve wet grip without compromising mileage.
The ContiMotion EVO also features an advanced compound and dedicated tread pattern for long-lasting performance, while its ZeroDegree steel-belt construction and new carcass materials provide stability at high speeds.
“The ContiMotion EVO has been upgraded in key areas without losing the fundamental renowned qualities of its predecessor,” Ettenhuber said. “Riders benefit from a tire that is noticeably more agile.”
The tire is designed for both sporty weekend riders and touring enthusiasts and is compatible with a range of motorcycles, including the BMW R12 nineT, Triumph Daytona 660, Ducati Supersport 950, Honda CB 650R, Suzuki GSX-8TT and Yamaha MT-09.
The ContiMotion EVO is available in a range of common tire dimensions. The 120/70 ZR 17 M/C (58W) TL front tire and 160/60 ZR 17 M/C (69W) TL and 180/55 ZR 17 M/C (73W) TL rear tires are available starting in September 2026. The 190/50 ZR 17 M/C (73W) TL rear tire will be available starting in November 2026.
Continental said the ContiMotion EVO and ContiMotion can be combined with each other.
