Don’t miss the “Rubber Rollers” symposium at the Spring Technical Meeting
Akron, OH – On Tuesday, April 14; 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., the Rubber Division, ACS will bring a comprehensive symposium on rubber roller technologies to the Spring Technical Meeting. This symposium brings together material scientists, equipment specialists and manufacturing experts to explore the full lifecycle of rubber roller production from polymer selection and compounding through finishing, testing and end-use performance optimization. Presentations span foundational manufacturing processes and core equipment (outlined by Ellen Pan of Jinan Power Roller Equipment), advanced grinding and surface finishing techniques (Mike Diskin of Halifax Numerical Controls) and application-driven manufacturing perspectives (Aarnav Dangarwala of American Roller & Plasma Coatings).
On the materials side, presenters will deliver insights comparing the chemistry and properties of NBR, HNBR and XNBR polymers for roller applications (Sarah Hull of Zeon Chemicals) and address the challenges of advancing high-performance HNBR properties without sacrificing compound processability (Kevin Kulbaba of Arlanxeo Performance Elastomers). Together, the sessions connect formulation and design choices to real-world industrial performance.
