Ecore earns SEAL Business Sustainability award

Lancaster, PA – Reinforcing its leadership in circular manufacturing, Ecore International, North America’s largest producer of recycled scrap-tire-derived rubber products, has earned the prestigious SEAL Business Sustainability Award in the Environmental Initiatives category. This award category honors specific environmental and sustainability initiatives led by companies ranging from well-recognized brands to high-growth start-ups and scale-ups.

Sustainability, Environmental, Achievement and Leadership (SEAL) is an environmental advocacy organization that honors leadership through business sustainability and environmental journalism awards while funding research and pursuing its own environmental impact campaigns.

“2025 represents our ninth SEAL Business Sustainability Award event,” said Matt Harney, Chairperson and Founder of the SEAL Awards, in a press release. “This year’s ESG award recipients follow a nine-year trendline of greater impact materiality and deeper granularity. Across all industries and geographies, companies are going deep and granular – into materials, chemistry, processes, R&D, supply chains and more – to generate sustainability improvements.”

Ecore’s winning entry, Crafting a Greener Tomorrow: Ecore’s Dedication to Sustainable Solutions, demonstrates the company’s commitment to a more circular economy through sustainable manufacturing processes and environmental initiatives, like diverting more than 430 million pounds of commercial tires from landfills annually and its recent TRUcircularity™ takeback program. Leveraging the potential of rubber waste, Ecore crafts dynamic surfaces that reduce force and exceed industry standards for acoustics, ergonomics and safety.

“It is a privilege to be recognized with the SEAL Environmental Initiative Award for our commitment to sustainability and our constant evolutionary efforts to continue on the path of a true circular economy,” said Shweta Srikanth, Chief Circularity Officer of Ecore. “Our company is one of the pioneering architects of circularity. For more than 150 years, Ecore has been transforming waste materials into high-performance products that touch people’s lives each day.”

This is the third consecutive annual award recognition Ecore has received from the SEAL Business Sustainability Awards program. In 2023, Ecore Athletic’s Heritage Motivate Performance Vinyl Tile (PVT) product was honored with a SEAL Award in the Sustainable Product category, which celebrates companies across the globe that make measurable contributions to sustainability and develop innovative products that positively impact the environment. In 2024, Ecore Athletic’s Optimum Sports Surfacing Technology (OSST) product line was honored with a SEAL Award in the same Sustainable Product category. These recent recognitions, as well as this year’s win in the Environmental Initiatives category, highlight Ecore’s dedication to circular thinking, not just within its overall business model, but throughout its development and manufacturing processes.

Ecore’s efforts extend beyond mere recycling; the company embraces circularity through its TRUcircularity program, where it reclaims its products at end of life and re-transforms them into performance products without generating material waste. By participating in the TRUcircularity program, customers actively engage in the circular rubber economy. Embracing the circular economy empowers the company and its stakeholders to nurture prosperity, generate employment and bolster resilience, all while curbing greenhouse gas emissions, waste and pollution. Through these initiatives, Ecore not only mitigates environmental harm but also forges a path towards a sustainable future.

“Together with our eco-conscious customers, vendors and suppliers, we continue to move forward with new innovations in both our manufacturing processes and sustainability programs to fulfill our mission of enhancing lives sustainably and eliminating rubber waste from the planet,” added Srikanth.
