Firestone Ag expands tire sizes for Maxi Traction line

Nashville, TN – Firestone Ag, a division of Bridgestone Americas, Inc. announced the expansion of its Maxi Traction and Radial Deep Tread 23° tire lines to meet the demands of next-generation John Deere tractors.

Debuted at Commodity Classic 2026 (February 25-27), these new tire sizes were developed in parallel with John Deere’s latest tractor advancements, giving farmers confidence in selecting proven Firestone Ag performance.

“This expansion takes our most established row crop fitment and carries it forward,” said Bill Durivage, senior agricultural product strategy manager at Firestone Ag. “By strengthening load capacity and incorporating our VF technology, we’re ensuring the tires continue to support the performance, efficiency and soil management expectations of today’s tractors.”

Evolving tire technology for evolving tractors

As tractors grow in size and horsepower, proper tire selection becomes even more critical to protect soil health, help manage fuel efficiency and reduce downtime.

“As tractors continue to evolve, our job is to stay connected to where those machines are headed and to grow alongside what’s happening in agriculture,” said Durivage. “Working in lockstep with John Deere exemplifies how we take tire technology that’s already proven in the field and evolve it to meet our customers’ needs.”

The portfolio now extends to RCI Group 50, with the largest size, VF480/95R54, measuring 90 inches tall and rated to carry 16,100 pounds. The Radial Deep Tread 23° tire maximizes lug-to-soil contact to help deliver consistent, dependable traction. The Maxi Traction, commonly paired on front applications, is engineered for optimized wear performance, long service life and enhanced load-carrying capability.

Select sizes will also be available with Very High Flexion (VF) technology, to help allow farmers to carry more load at lower inflation pressures – enlarging tire footprint, improving traction and helping manage soil compaction in the field.

“Building on Firestone’s 125-year legacy of performance, Firestone Ag has led agricultural tire innovations, season after season, since our invention of the first pneumatic farm tire in 1932,” said Jamey Smart, vice president of Firestone Ag, North America. “The expanded lineup of tires reinforces this long-standing commitment to productivity in row crop agriculture and continued dedication to delivering the ag solutions that farmers need.”

The new sizes will be available beginning May 1, 2026.
