Global rubber consumption down in Q3 2025
Singapore – The International Rubber Study Group (IRSG) has released its Rubber Statistical Bulletin for the third quarter of 2025, outlining recent developments in global rubber production and consumption.
Global rubber consumption declined by 2.1% in Q3 2025 compared with the same period in 2024. On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, however, global consumption remained 0.6% higher, reflecting stronger demand earlier in the year.
Global natural rubber production increased by 6.7% year on year in Q3 2025 and by 4.1% on a YTD basis, supported by higher output in major producing countries. Natural rubber consumption also recorded growth, rising by 1.9% in Q3 2025 compared with Q3 2024 and by 1.7% on a YTD basis, indicating relatively stable demand conditions.
The synthetic rubber sector continued to face weaker market conditions. Global synthetic rubber production declined by 5.0% in Q3 2025 compared with the same quarter last year and was 1.2% lower on a YTD basis. Synthetic rubber consumption fell by 5.8% year on year in Q3 2025 and by 0.4% on a YTD basis, reflecting subdued demand across downstream industries.
