This article is the second of a two-part study on hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR) a specialty elastomer used in demanding applications in the automotive, industrial, and oil and gas markets. Part 1 focused on HNBR copolymers of acrylonitrile and butadiene, and demonstrated how mathematically derived models, via a statistical experimental design, could be used for polymer selection and better design of compounds to meet application requirements.
