PPG, PPG Foundation invest $18.1 million in global communities in 2025

Pittsburg, PA — PPG Industries and the PPG Foundation invested $18.1 million in community programs worldwide in 2025, supporting more than 400 organizations across nearly 30 countries, the company said Thursday.

The funding supported initiatives focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics education, workforce development, community sustainability and disaster relief.

About $9.8 million of the investment went toward STEM education, skilled trades training and environmental education programs designed to prepare students for careers in technical fields. The company also distributed 10,000 STEM resource kits to schools across the United States to support classroom learning.

Another $3.7 million was directed toward sustainability and disaster relief initiatives, including support for communities affected by extreme weather and wildfire recovery efforts.

The company also marked the 10th anniversary of its Colorful Communities program, a global initiative aimed at revitalizing community spaces. In 2025, employees and volunteers completed 43 projects in 23 countries, including painting and renovation efforts at schools, community centers and public spaces.

Since its launch in 2015, the program has mobilized more than 33,000 volunteers to complete 635 projects in more than 50 countries, impacting more than 10 million people, according to the company.

To mark the milestone, PPG awarded $1 million in grants to 100 community partners and committed $15 million to continue the initiative over the next decade.

“In 2025, our targeted investments and partnerships expanded STEM education, accelerated career training and skills development and helped protect and beautify neighborhoods,” said Malesia Dunn, executive director of the PPG Foundation and corporate global social responsibility at PPG.

Headquartered in Pittsburgh, PPG operates in more than 50 countries and manufactures paints, coatings and specialty materials for construction, industrial and transportation markets.
