Stockwell Elastomerics invest more than $8 million to expand facilities
Philadelphia, PA — Stockwell Elastomerics announced an investment of more than $8 million to expand its manufacturing operations, production capacity and technical workforce.
The company acquired a facility adjacent to its Philadelphia headquarters and added manufacturing equipment and engineering resources to support growth in the aerospace, defense, medical device, semiconductor, electronics and instrumentation industries.
The expansion includes a 38,000-square-foot building that will increase the company’s total campus footprint to more than 100,000 square feet. Stockwell Elastomerics said it expects to complete planning, infrastructure improvements and renovations during 2026, with production operations scheduled to begin in 2027.
The additional space will support expanded silicone molding, fabrication and assembly operations.
The company also has increased manufacturing capacity by adding three compression molding presses, a liquid injection molding (LIM) press and additional production infrastructure.
According to the company, the investments will increase capacity for prototype and production programs involving silicone, fluorosilicone, conductive elastomer and other specialty materials.
Stockwell Elastomerics also expanded its engineering, quality and customer support teams, adding 15 employees across applications engineering, customer service and quality assurance functions.
The company said it maintained its ISO 9001 and AS9100 certifications as part of its continuing focus on quality management, process control and traceability.
“Our continued investments are driven by the needs of our customers,” Stockwell Elastomerics President Tom Rimel said in a statement. “Whether it’s expanding manufacturing capacity, adding new molding technologies, growing our engineering expertise or strengthening our quality systems, every investment is focused on helping customers bring products to market faster while reducing risk throughout the development and production process.”
Stockwell Elastomerics said it also continues to invest in sales, engineering, research and development, manufacturing technology, automation and supplier partnerships.
Company officials said the expanded facilities, increased production capacity and larger technical workforce are intended to position the company to meet increasing demand for specialized elastomeric products and services.
