Student sponsorship initiative seeks industry support ahead of Global Polymer Summit

Akron, OH – Industry leaders are being asked to invest in the next generation of professionals by supporting a student sponsorship initiative connected to the Global Polymer Summit (GPS).

The Rubber Division reminds us that the future of the polymer industry depends on attracting and developing new talent. Through the initiative, selected students will have the opportunity to attend the conference at no cost, gaining firsthand exposure to the industry and its career opportunities.

According to the Division, participation in GPS often serves as a student’s first direct experience with the polymer sector. Previous participants have gone on to pursue careers in the industry, helping strengthen the workforce pipeline companies rely on for future growth.

Sponsorship contributions help cover student hotel accommodations, transportation and meal expenses. Organizers say each contribution increases the number of students who can attend the event and explore potential careers in the field.

Companies are encouraged to commit their support as soon as possible, with an Aug. 1 deadline for sponsorship participation.

Three sponsorship levels are available:

  • Catalyst Level — $4,000
  • Element Level — $2,400
  • Molecule Level — $800

In addition to supporting workforce development efforts, sponsoring companies will receive recognition through conference and industry publications. Benefits include mention in a GPS Daily article during the conference, recognition in a post-conference GPS Daily article published in Rubber World’s October issue, and acknowledgment through social media posts related to the initiative.

Sponsors will also be recognized through logo placement in a thank-you advertisement appearing in the GPS Guide and GPS Daily publications.

Students interested in attending GPS may apply through the GPS Student Initiative. Selected participants will receive complimentary conference registration, access to training sessions, and coverage of travel, lodging and meal expenses through the support of sponsoring companies.

Organizers encourage industry professionals to share information about the program with college and university students who may benefit from attending the event.
