Synthos to showcase sustainable technologies at Tire Technology Expo 2022
Oświęcim, Poland – Synthos to showcase its sustainable technologies at Tire Technology Expo 2022, taking place May 18-20, 2022, in Hannover, Germany. The show will be Synthos’ first industry event since acquiring Trinseo’s synthetic rubber business in late 2021. It is an opportunity for the company to present an even stronger synthetic rubber portfolio to the market and highlight recent announcements such as the development of its advanced bio-butadiene technology and ISCC mass balance certification for its entire rubber offering.
Dr. Malte Wohlfahrt, R&D Director at Synthos, and Dr. Sven Thiele, R&D Group Leader Process & Product Development SSBR, will be presenting at the conference to explain how Synthos can help tire manufacturers achieve their performance and sustainability goals with advanced synthetic rubber solutions.
Bio-based and circular raw materials, low rolling resistance tread compounds for increased mileage, better wear for longer lasting tires, reuse of end-of-life tires, and mass balance certification are all topics that will be covered in Dr. Malte Wohlfahrt’s presentation on May 18. He will also share his experience and talk about common challenges and opportunities related to a roadmap for sustainable technologies in research and development.
A long-time speaker at TireTech Expo, Dr. Sven Thiele, will give a technical paper on May 19, titled “High Molecular Weight Functionalized Batch SSBR for EV tires,” which will focus on Synthos’ new functionalized high molecular weight SPRINTAN® SSBR grades that offer an outstanding balance between low rolling resistance and wet grip, an excellent mechanical property profile, and balanced wear and processing properties.
