Trinseo named one of America’s most responsible companies by Newsweek

Berwyn, PA – Trinseo has been named one of America’s most responsible companies by Newsweek for the third consecutive year. Trinseo ranks 97th among the 500 listed companies in the United States and 12th in the materials and chemicals industry.

Newsweek collaborates with Statista, the global research and data firm, to conduct an annual list of the most Responsible Companies in the United States, and this year is the third year. Newsweek has expanded the list of companies from 399 last year to 500 this year. Spanning 14 industries, businesses on the list include automotive, capital goods, hotels, materials, retails, software and technology, and vary widely in company size. They all believe in and practice Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

“This ranking marks another great recognition of our sustainability initiatives,” commented Francesca Reverberi, SVP and Chief Sustainability Officer at Trinseo, “We have clear sustainability goals, and our colleagues are highly dedicated. Sustainability will continue to be at the forefront of our efforts.”

The analysis was carried out in a 4-phase process, starting with a pool of over 2,000 companies that were screened by different criteria. All the companies that passed the pre-screening have been analyzed in detail. The detailed analysis consisted of an independent survey among more than 11,000 U.S. residents, and the research was based on publicly available key performance indicators derived from Corporate Annual Reports, CSR Reports, Sustainability Reports and Corporate Citizenship Reports. The detailed analysis covered three areas of CSR: Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance. All elements were weighted to produce a final score.
