Volkswagen is fitting its ID. Buzz with premium tires from Continental

Hanover, Germany – Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is fitting its ID. Buzz with premium tires from Continental. The Hanover-based vehicle manufacturer equipps the new all-electric “Bulli” ID. Buzz with EcoContact 6 Q summer tires. Continental supplies its exceptionally energy-efficient tires in sizes 19″ and 20″ directly to the factory.

The EcoContact 6 Q offers outstanding energy efficiency, service life, brake performance and handling. The tread profile constantly adapts to the road surface, ensuring a longer tire life. The specially developed rubber compound minimizes friction when the tire is in contact with the road surface, which means that the tire dissipates less energy and, in turn, rolling resistance is reduced. Thanks to modified blocks, sipes and lateral grooves, the tire is also noise-optimized.

In many countries of the world, Continental also offers a wide range of additional summer, winter and all-season tires – including test winners such as the AllSeasonContact – for the VW ID. Buzz as part of its tire replacement business.

Continental supplies tires to seven of the world’s ten most successful electric vehicle manufacturers. In Europe, Continental is the approved supplier of original tire equipment to the five highest-volume manufacturers of battery electric vehicles. In the Asia-Pacific and Americas region, Continental supplies three of the five highest-volume manufacturers of electric vehicles.

As a collaborative and development partner of many years’ standing to Volkswagen, Continental played a crucial role right from the outset in the design and development of the ID. Buzz. The technology company has contributed vital technology covering nearly all aspects of this cult van – from the software and central computer architecture to the brakes and sophisticated thermal management system (e.g. for cooling the batteries).
