Westlake Performance Tyres joins Red Bull Driftbrothers as new tire partner

Hangzhou, China – Drifting is one of the most spectacular and demanding disciplines in motorsport. One of its most popular players worldwide is the Red Bull Driftbrothers team. The successful German motorsport team now relies on Westlake Sport RS tires from ZC Rubber for its two 1,000 hp BMW M4s. The leading Chinese tire manufacturer with its Westlake Performance Tyres brand is the team’s new official supplier and tire partner. ZC Rubber is a top ten tire manufacturer in the world.

The new co-operation celebrated its premiere at this year’s ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring. In the pre-program of the legendary race, the Red Bull Driftbrothers completed a show drift in their newly tired BMW cars, causing a buzz among the record-breaking crowd. Due to the high track temperatures, the Westlake Sport RS tires were particularly challenged. The choice of tires generally plays a decisive role in drifting, as maximum consistent grip and control are required for the high-precision maneuvers.

The partnership between ZC Rubber and the Red Bull Driftbrothers is set up for the long term and offers both sides numerous added values. Providing the team with tires will, among other things, serve technological development based on feedback from driver Elias Hountondji. In addition, ZC Rubber wants to use the partnership to further increase awareness of the Westlake brand on the European market. The demonstration of the quality and performance of the products and technologies under extreme conditions is also a clear signal to the OEM and replacement market in Europe.
