Yokohama’s BlueEarth tires to be factory-equipped on Daihatsu’s e-Hijet Cargo and e-Atrai

Hiratsuka, Japan—The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced that it has begun supplying its BluEarth-Van RY55 tires as original equipment (OE) to Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. for use on the automaker’s new commercial-use mini-BEV (battery electric vehicle), e-Hijet Cargo and e-Atrai, which were launched in Japan in February 2026. The e-Hijet Cargo and e-Atrai are being equipped with 145/80R12 86/84N LT size tires.

The BluEarth-Van RY55 is a YOKOHAMA’s fuel-efficient (energy-efficient) BluEarth brand tires that is dedicated to vans. It provides both enhanced wear resistance and high wet performance. The tires being supplied this time offer outstanding durability to handle the high loads unique to BEVs due to their batteries. In addition to using a compound that improves rolling-resistance performance and wear resistance, the tires’ tread rubber thickness and profile have been optimized to maintain wet performance and ride comfort.

The e-Hijet Cargo and e-Atrai, Daihatsu’s first mass-produced*1 BEVs, feature the newly developed e-SMART ELECTRIC BEV system optimized for mini vehicles and accommodate a large-capacity battery without compromising interior space. Both models achieve a cruising range per charge of 257 km in WLTC mode (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism test value). *2
