Yokohama Tire announced major plans to celebrate the 100th running of the legendary Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, including sponsoring and securing a position as the exclusive tire supplier of The Porsche Pikes Peak Trophy by Yokohama for the fifth straight year – all the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport vehicles will be competing on ADVAN A052® tires.

ENGEL has opened a new customer technical center at the large machine plant in St. Valentin. With a great number of large injection molding machines on show for a diverse range of uses, ENGEL now offers its customers an even greater opportunity to get to know and test products and technologies by ENGEL in an environment that is close to real life. Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) and Dow have partnered to develop B-SEALS, a recyclable, silicone-based tire sealant technology. The extended mobility solution will be introduced at the upcoming 2022 Silicone Expo in Detroit (June 21-23), and represents more than four years of joint research and development between the two companies.

The Rubber Division, ACS is asking for your help to extend their outreach to Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and Engineering students who have expressed an interest in the polymer industry; however, don’t have polymer focused programming at their college/university. This is a new audience ther are working to reach – undergraduate students who do not attend schools where the division has student chapters. We need to make all aspects of our industry known to these students and there is no better way to achieve that than to bring several of them to our International Elastomer Conference. This is a great opportunity for these students to gain more knowledge specific to our industry, make connections, and show them how amazing our industry is and why they should be a part of it! The Division is seeking support to assist with covering several student’s hotel, meal and transportation costs, so they can make this possible. The number of students then can bring depends on the support received.

Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) announced it has introduced new functionality to enable direct referrals from its consumer websites to over 900 TireConnect affiliated dealers across the U.S. and Canada. This new feature now provides customers the option to quote, request an appointment or purchase online from any TireConnect-enabled dealer directly from the Bridgestone and Firestone websites. This lead-transfer capability will provide a meaningful boost in tire leads and sales to independent dealers who can now benefit from the millions of customers visiting Bridgestone’s corporate websites, just like national retailers.

Goodyear is recalling more than 170,000 tires that were produced between 1996 and 2003 and sold for use on trucks and recreational vehicles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that these tires experienced a high rate of failure on RVs when compared to similar tires. Tire failure at highway speeds can lead to serious injury or death.
