Covestro celebrates its 10th anniversary
Pittsburg, PA – Covestro celebrated its 10th anniversary on September 1st, marking a decade of innovation, sustainability leadership and community engagement since its separation from Bayer in 2015.
To celebrate the occasion, the company, whose purpose is to make the world a brighter place, launched an employee driven volunteerism campaign, dubbed 10 for 10. The 10 for 10 program encouraged employees across the Americas region to give back in their local communities through volunteering with non-profit organizations. The goal – providing 10,000 hours of volunteerism between January 1st, 2025, and the company’s tenth anniversary on September 1st. For every volunteer hour logged, Covestro will donate 10 meals through Feeding America and the Global FoodBanking Network.
Covestro employees exceeded the 10,000-hour goal nearly two months ahead of schedule, prompting the company to extend the campaign by an additional 5,000 hours through the end of 2025. Covestro will continue donating 10 meals per hour of volunteerism, ultimately providing 150,000 meals for people facing hunger when the new hourly goal is reached.
“Our people are the heart of Covestro. Their passion and sense of purpose, exemplified by their commitment to volunteerism, drives the spirit of innovation that sets Covestro apart and makes us a steward in our communities and a partner of choice for our customers,” said Samir Hifri, chairman and president of Covestro LLC. “Our 10th anniversary milestone represents both Covestro’s journey as a company and our dedication to our stakeholders, from the communities where we reside to our customers and partners.”
