Denka announces price increase for chloroprene line

Tokyo, Japan – Denka announced that they have decided to enforce price revision for chloroprene rubber, which is offered under the brand name of “Denka Chloroprene” and “Denka Neoprene.” The company noted cost increases in production and current supply and demand balance as the reason.

The price increase is more than USD500 or EUR450 per metric ton effective from May 10th, 2022.

In a press release dated April 6th said, “We are facing difficulty of continuous and huge cost increase in our production such as raw materials and utility. Our effort alone cannot absorb all the increasing costs although we are making the best effort to minimize it. On top of that, the CR global demand has been increasing continuously and significantly and it is impossible to cover all demand even from our existing customers. Hence we decided to increase its selling price in order to maintain the stable supply and business continuity. We deeply appreciate your continuous support and understanding on the price revision.”
