Final weeks to submit abstract for the 2026 AMAP Annual Conference

Glen Ellyn, IL – AMAP invites you to submit an abstract for the 2026 AMAP Annual Conference & Workshop, October 19-21, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts. Submissions are due Thursday, April 24.

This year’s conference theme is “The Next Revolution: Performance-Driven Modified Asphalt – Engineering the Future of High-Performance Pavements and Roofing Systems”. Held in historic Boston—the birthplace of the American Revolution—this conference embraces the spirit of transformation and progress that has shaped both the nation and the infrastructure that supports it. Just as Boston once sparked a revolution that reshaped history, the asphalt industry is undergoing its own transformation through innovation in asphalt modification technologies.

This conference will explore how advanced materials, polymer technologies, and performance-driven engineering are redefining the way we design, produce, and construct asphalt pavements and roofing systems. Through expert discussions, cutting-edge research, and industry collaboration, participants will examine how modified asphalt continues to strengthen pavement performance, improve sustainability, and enhance durability in both transportation infrastructure and roofing applications.

Key Focus Areas

Advancing Asphalt Modification: Exploring innovations in polymers, hybrid modifiers, and advanced binder technologies to improve pavement durability and resilience as well as enhance the performance of roofing systems.

Sustainable Solutions: Highlighting environmentally responsible solutions that enhance the lifespan of asphalt pavements and roofing materials while reducing environmental impact.

Performance-Driven Engineering: Integrating modern performance testing, balanced mix design principles, and engineering approaches to optimize modified asphalt mixtures and improve the reliability of asphalt roofing products.

From Research to Practice: Sharing case studies, field experiences, and implementation strategies that bridge the gap between innovation and real-world application in both paving and roofing sectors.

Building Resilient Infrastructure: Leveraging advanced asphalt technologies to design pavements capable of meeting future traffic demands while also strengthening the durability and resilience of roofing systems exposed to environmental extremes.

Advancing Testing and Specifications: Refining testing methods and specifications to ensure reliability, consistency, and long-term performance of modified asphalt materials used in paving and roofing applications.
Abstract Submissions

Abstract submissions are welcome on topics that involve the modification of asphalt paving or roofing materials. The abstract should be a maximum of 500 words and must include a concise and clear statement of objectives, methods used, results, and conclusions of the study or field project being presented. Ongoing research is welcome. The presented work does not need to be published or in a publishable state. Abstracts will be considered for oral presentations only.

Those submitting an abstract will have an opportunity to submit a short paper (minimum 5 pages, maximum 15 pages) that will be published in an inaugural AMAP conference proceedings by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Paper submission is not mandatory for participation in the conference program. However, acceptance of the abstract and inclusion in the conference program are mandatory prerequisites for eligibility to submit a short paper.

For full abstract submission information, guidelines, and to submit an abstract visit www.modifiedasphalt.org. The deadline for abstract submissions is Thursday, April 24, 2026.
