Restoring the environment with ammonia-free natural rubber latex
Sustainability, as it is commonly defined today, is no longer enough. To address urgent climate and social challenges, industries must embrace regenerative practices; approaches that go beyond minimizing harm to actively restore ecosystems and improve human well-being. In the natural rubber industry, despite the material’s carbon negative potential, conventional processing still causes significant environmental harm.
Traditionally, the preservation of natural rubber liquid latex has depended on additives such as ammonia, tetramethylthiuram disulfide (TMTD) and zinc oxide: chemicals that pose serious risks to both environmental and human health. In response, an innovative, ammonia-free stabilization technology that functions in an acidic environment without harmful chemicals has been developed by AFLatex Technologies.
