Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd., the Teijin Group’s fibers and products converting company, announced that it has developed an eco-friendly staple polyester nanofiber that offers excellent performance to reinforce rubber uses in products including automotive tires, hoses and belts. Teijin Frontier will start production in 2023 and expects sales to reach JPY one billion (nearly USD 8.2 million) by the fiscal year ending in March 2028.

Last week Nokian Tyres announced that the company starts to expedite its plans to invest in new production capacity in Europe. Therefore, the Board of Directors changed the proposal to the Annual General Meeting regarding the dividend payment, cutting the total dividend payable to shareholders by EUR 106 million to fund the new capacity

Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) announced an exclusive partnership with Carbon Capture and Transformation (CCT) company, LanzaTech NZ, Inc. (LanzaTech) to address end-of-life tire waste. The two companies will co-develop the first dedicated end-of-life tire recycling process leveraging LanzaTech’s proprietary CCT technology, creating a pathway toward tire material circularity and the decarbonization of new tire production. 

-Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd. announced that it is going to increase the sales prices of all of its silicone products by ten percent globally effective May 2022.

AGC will introduce their newest polyether polyols with high molecular weight and various structures at the World Adhesive and Sealant Conference. These new grades enhance performance values of silane terminated hybrid polymer-based adhesives and sealants.

In a special fundraising action, VMI and its employees have collectively donated EUR 160,000 to “Giro 555”, which is the Dutch part of the global Emergency Appeals Alliance. The donation will be used to provide practical support to the Ukrainian people and those affected by the conflict.
The fundraising is part of the contribution that VMI has made globally to provide help to the refugees. Particularly, VMI Poland has actively been involved in giving food and shelter.
