SHIBAURA MACHINE EUROPE LWB is broadening its reach in Spain by appointing Puebla Vendrell Engineering System S.L. as its new sales partner, effective September 2, 2026. This partnership will enhance the company’s foothold in the Spanish market and boost the distribution of its horizontal and vertical thermoplastic injection molding machines.

The WACKER Group will be showcasing the first non-postcure liquid silicone rubber with self-adhesive properties at this year’s FAKUMA international trade fair for plastics processing. The product, available under the name ELASTOSIL® LR 5471, crosslinks to form an elastomer with an extremely low volatile content. As a result, hard/soft composite parts made from the new grade can be used in the food and medical industries as well as in infant care, in many cases even without postcure treatment. WACKER will present the product at FAKUMA from October 12 to 16 in Hall A6, Booth A6-6212.

We will begin selling pilot products by the end of FY2026, proceed with customer evaluations and certifications, and launch sales of mass produced products in the second half of FY2027.

Smithers announced the acquisition of ACS Laboratory located near Tampa, Florida. The acquisition immediately enables Smithers to provide national hemp testing and introduces dedicated peptide testing services. Following completion of the required Florida regulatory approval, Smithers will expand cannabis testing services into the Florida market.

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announces that it has developed and begun full-scale operation in August 2026 of a proprietary generative AI system utilizing RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), which searches various technical documents accumulated internally and presents responses based on their contents. This new system contributes to further accelerating and enhancing tire development by providing rapid and accurate access to technical information necessary for decision-making during the tire development process, including material development.
